harvest 2023 program

In the month of September the slopes of the Douro valley come to life with workers collecting the grapes.

Quinta das Peixotas is inviting you to take part in the harvest this year and learn about the region’s cherished fruit; at same time you’ll be able to understand and participate on our wine’s production and taste it.

Every person should bring comfortable clothes for the day:

 

  1. trousers, waterproof cover (if rains), hat and confortable shoes for when cutting the grapes;
  2. very short shorts (if possible dark), slippers and clean towel for when stepping the grapes;
  3. latex gloves and repellent for those who are more sensitive.

september 15th and 18th
reservation dates available

10:00 welcome and reception breakfast.
it will be given a quinta das peixotas t-shirt to be used during the day. distribution of scissors and bucket for the harvest

11:00 – 12:30 departure to the vineyards, picking (cutting) grapes together with local workers; scissors and bucket should be returned before lunch.

13:00 – 14:00 tradicional lunch with typical dish, fruit and coffee. water and wine included

14:30 – 15:00 presentation of quinta das peixotas vineyard, guided tour through the winery.

15:30 – 17:00 foot treading the grapes in the traditional ‘lagares’.

17:30 wine tasting (1 white + 3 reds), with Quinta das Peixotas’s olive oil, bread and cheese. thanks + end of program.
